"The seven vows"
The 🌕 moon was dim, the clouds suggested the midnight commotion in the hills. The small peasants returning crooning in their tongue implied the wrapping of the day's toil though some kids still full of vigor were arguing over their liberty and freedom from their parents in the small field. The white house🏠 surrounded by the hills looked desolate and soothing ironically. The big courtyard distinguished it with the other humble dwellings in the hills as if built with some opulence as well as purpose.
The place was devoid of any spectrums, so carrying a phone served good for a watch and a recorder for my research work. Having interacted with most of the hilly folks the curiosity to be invited in the white house had already peaked though the magnificence always halted my steps.
The day had seen incessant rain since morning and having nothing to ponder over I kept gazing at the house and finally got and girded up and approached the gate. In quarter of an hour I reached and to my utter surprise there was no lock nor was there any guard. The windows and doors were all left open with curtains raised and bushes all trimmed suggested some elite residing. When passed the door I finally got some human touch. A lady clad in semi- western attire greeted me as if I were invited.
After being offered a seat, I again gazed aslantly on the lady. A lady in her thirties, though with the pale appearance she looked of forty. The beautiful face had faded as if some trauma or ailment hit her. I apologized for the sudden intervention in her life when she offered me tea though her pale face looked cheerful with my intrusion. I asked her if she stayed alone and instantly got the answer in the form of a 6-feet high, dark , well built man in his thirties. We exchanged formal greetings soon. A perfect couple ❤️, I said in my mind. But, then why the people are so whimsical about that house.
After exchanging the basic whereabouts I somehow grasped my breath to ask," why people do not visit here"?
"We shifted here three years back because of her incurable ailment though subsidized with fresh air. And these ignorant folks take us for doomed and...", the man hesitated for his next words. I got some pity for the ignorant folks but my queries were not over yet. I shot another one, "How long have you been married and don't you have kids"?
This time the lady retorted," it's been ten years and my ailment doesn't allow any such involvement, I mean we can't...". I got it, I replied when she fumbled with words and embarrassment. But being the only shameless creature in that hall my mouth blurted out "must be tough when u would have come to know about it after the marriage"?
"No, I knew much before those seven vows and we are madly in love with each other" the man this time was not groping for words. And I sat there like the dumbest person alive thinking about the mediocrity of this world based on ceremonies. True, love transcends all the physical deformities and can blossom without lust.♥️♥️♥️
