but you were carefree
you ran barefoot 
after butterflies in fields.

I am a better you 
but you were vigorous
you flew kites 
high in the sky.

I am a better you
but you were stronger
you climbed trees
to pluck the mangoes.

I am a better you
but you were available
you fought with foes
and chit-chat with friends.

I am a better you
but you were economical
you got contentment
in two bucks candies.

I am a better you 
but you were social 
you shared your stuffs 
with people you loved.

I am a better you
but you were ambitious
you dreamt of yourself 
to be above the world.

I am a better you
but you were expressive
you shared your scars 
and pain with the humans.

I am a better you 
but you were innocent
you didn't doubt 
any human's intentions.

I am a better you 
but you were perseverant
you got off each time
you fell down.

I am a better you 
but you were a keeper
you always kept 
the pinky promises you made.

Time flew slowly 
and changed me for better
but the betterness costed
the version satisfying my soul.
